Spring is in the air which is the season of growth and endless possibilities
It’s the perfect time to start a new habit, whether that’s something in your personal life, or, in your business. Or both.
In my personal life, finding the time to read is a habit I started a few weeks ago, and definitely want to keep up.
I wrote a post about it on Instagram because it’s something that always falls to the bottom of my list. But, a few weeks in, it actually feels quite easy to find 15 minutes or so here and there every day to read.
And I’ve noticed a big difference in how I’m feeling because of it. It’s so good for my mood and my creative juices.
In my professional life, I want to do what I teach and spend regular time on my SEO. Like most people, it’s something that keeps slipping to the bottom of my list.
A lot of the small business owners I’ve talked to about SEO say that they just don’t have the time to look at it. They think it’s going to be complicated and therefore it’s going to take a lot of time to do.
And so they don’t do anything.
That means they’re missing out on making connections online with the people they want to do business with.
The key to any new habit is making it easy and manageable. Setting aside 20 minutes every day is enough to work on your SEO strategy, whether that’s checking your links or writing.
To get started, spend a few minutes either the week before, or over the weekend, and decide what tasks you are going to focus on and what time of the day is going to work best for you.
On your first day, make a cuppa, set a timer for 20 minutes, and do whichever task you’ve chosen for that day. It could be doing some keyword research, interacting with some people you’d like to do a blog swap with, sharing or planning blog posts, and then writing them.
You could spend two of the sessions a week writing and the rest on other SEO tasks. You’ll soon find that you’ve got a bank of content to turn into blog posts.
If getting started feels daunting and you don’t know what tasks to do, I can help.
My mini-SEO audits give you the right keywords, a clear action plan to work through, and a workbook to help keep you on track. I’m taking bookings now for April and May - I’ve got two slots for each month.
So, if you want to start taking action and use a simple SEO strategy that can help you transform your visibility to search engines, hit reply and get booked in for a mini audit.
We’ll be looking at keyword research in detail in April with paid subscribers, so if you want to find out how to do it and where to put your words once you find them, upgrade your subscription so that you’re ready to take action.
