I feel like all I talk about at the minute is how utterly pants the weather has been! I know there is absolutely nothing I can do to change it, but it seems to be the start of most of the conversations I’m having at the minute.
It’s made me realise just how much the weather affects my mood.
When the sun is shining, I’m full of energy and get a lot more done. When it’s not, I struggle to get my head in the right place.
That’s not ideal when you live in a country that’s prone to unpredictable weather and run your own business!
Are you affected by the weather? If you are, how do you pull yourself out of the duvet when it’s raining and cold yet again?
I’m hoping that adding a bit of spring to my website, wi
ll help to lift my mood. I’ve been inspired by Liz Mosley to add a pop of new colour to my site and I really like how it looks.
It’s a colour that’s always been part of my branding, but I haven’t really used it. Head over to my website to have a look and let me know what you think.
Spring cleaning your website content is a great way of updating things to make sure everything is shining bright. The brighter it shines, the more of the right people see it which helps to increase sales and revenue.
Some things to look at:
Check your keywords. Are they still relevant to what you do? Spend 20 minutes doing some research in search engines to see what words people are using when they’re looking for businesses like yours.
Make sure you’re not referring to past events like Mother’s Day or Easter in your copy.
Plan some spring blog posts. They don’t have to be business-related - letting your audience get to know a bit about you is a great way to help them build trust in you.
Make a list of businesses you’d like to do a blog swap with. That’s where you write a post for them and they do the same for you. This gives you both backlinks that help to improve your authority which, in turn, gets more eyes on your business and the potential for more sales.
Add some spring / summer images. Don’t forget to add the alt text to them so that they’re searchable as well as accessible.
If you want to start making sales with your SEO and would like some help to get started, have a look at my Mini SEO Audit. It’s a review of things like your keywords to make sure they’re the right ones and that they’re in the best places, links, and content.
I’ve got a couple of slots available for May and June so get in touch if you’d like to get booked in.
I’m also doing some research about how people feel about SEO so that I can create services and content that helps. I’d be grateful if you spare me a couple of minutes and answer a few questions about this in this Google form.
Thank you for reading the free version of The Simple SEO Club. I’d love you to join us in the paid club where you can get more support and trainings to help you get your website seen by the people you want to work with. The more of your ideal clients who see it, the more potential for sales and increased revenue.
Have a good week.
